Food Sale for Earthquake Victims
Charity Food Sale for Earthquake Victims in Turkey. The Turkish-American community feels sad about the strong earthquake which struck eastern Turkey with a 7.2 magnitude on Sunday, October 23rd. A second earthquake hit the same region on Wednesday November 9 causing two hotels to collapse. Officials say the death toll in the powerful earthquakes that hit eastern Turkey is now more than 600. The death count is likely to rise further as there are still people missing and 2,264 buildings have collapsed in these powerful earthquakes. Divan Center is organizing a charity food sale on this Sunday November 20 between 12 pm and 3 pm for the families of the victims to provide tents, blankets, food, water, and other needed supplies. We are collaborating with the Helping Hands Relief Foundation (www.hhrelief.org ) to send the raised money to Turkey. The food sale will include a variety of delicious dishes from Turkish cuisine including doner kebab. We extend our deepest condolences to the families of the victims who lost their loved ones, relatives, and friends. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone who has been affected by these two terrible earthquakes. We look forward to seeing you and your friends in this charity food sale event at Divan-Triad’s location given below. Divan Cultural Center-Triad 7021 Albert Pick Rd. Suite A Greensboro, NC 27409 www.divantriad.org
